Big Week – Big Problem

The first week of trying to correct what is wrong has come to a close.  Our CEO, Fred Schmidt, along with his CFO Matt Ward, have made significant strides in the Administrative Services Division…. primarily, in my opinion, because they carry a big stick.  They’ve gotten four different departments/teams to pilot for them.  It’s always good to have champions like the C.O. level guys pushing the agenda.

Chris has definitely been living on easy street working with Sales and Marketing.  After Allyson appeared to me as a huge opponent when she was attacking our presentation, she has turned into the biggest proponent you could imagine.  She and George from Marketing are so on board that it appears as though they might force everyone under them to play.  I know that Fred talked to her Wednesday evening and emphasized the need to NOT mandate.  There must be buy-in at the lower levels.

As for Jimbo and me, I really think we are missing something!  It should not be this hard.  How is it that you can get people to privately say they support what you are doing, but not ever get on the bus with you?  What is going on in Engineering?  We’ve got to figure this one out, if we are going to move forward……..
